Appel Herring Fillets in Dijon-Mustard Sauce, 7.05-Ounce Tins (Pack of 10)
I had this product about 3 years ago and have not been able to find it locally since. As I have had great luck in the past with Amazon's huge variety of products, I sought and found this tasty item. The fish is firm, very white and mellow tasting and the mustard is a softer version of the hot dog type sold in the US. With a very faintly sweet quality it is a perfect accompaniment to the herring. Look at it as "a kinder, gentler sardine." I enjoy it on whole grain crackers but it's pretty nice on toast, too. An added bonus is it doesn't smell "fishy" the way sardines do so my coworkers allow me to eat my lunch with them once again. :)

I purchased this Appel herring in Dijon-mustard sauce to give myself an occasional treat, but ended up eating all 10 cans of it within 2 weeks time! The sauce that the herring is in is delicately spiced and works perfectly with the fish rather than overpowering it. I would definitely buy this product again. I absolutely loved it.
