Chardonnay Cheese Board (1.6 Pound) by igourmet.com
Chardonnay comes from the green-skinned European vinifera grape. The wine is characterized by citrus flavors - particularly limes and lemons, and also tropical fruit, pineapple, dried peaches, nuts, butterscotch. The texture is often described as buttery. Here are some cheese we enjoy with Chardonnay: Ptit Basque: This semi-soft sheeps milk cheese is handmade in the French Pyrenees. P'tit Basque, made from pure sheep's milk, has a rather dry texture and an earthy, nutty flavor. Gruyere de Comté : Made from a centuries-old recipe, 70-pound wheels of Gruyere de Comté (Comté, for short) have been produced since the reign of Charlemagne, when there were no separate entities named France and Switzerland. Contributing to Comté's unique flavor, morning and evening milkings are mingled before the cheese making process. The wheels are aged for six months, resulting in a sweet and nutty masterpiece. Explorateur: In the 1950s, a category of cheeses called triple creams was created and defined as any cheese containing at least 75% butterfat. This level is achieved by adding pure cream to the milk used to make these cheeses. Explorateur is one of these rich little gems. Each Assortment comes complete with Trudeau Cheese Serving Set: The cutting surface is made from tempered glass. A wooden drawer is contained under the top of the board with 3 compartments holding a stainless steel fork, spreader, and a long blade knife designed with holes to reduce friction. Contains 1.6 lb. of cheese. Board dimensions: 12" Diameter. Please note that any item temporarily out of stock will be substituted with a similar item of equal value.Chardonnay not included.
