I buy this product in the condiments aisle of my local store, and I make a mean slow cooked pot roast with a bottle (undiluted), 1 bottle of Guiness Extra Stout, fresh sliced mushrooms and onions, plus a small can of tomato paste. The key is to brown the kosher salted meat (chuck roast) in a non-cast iron skillet with a little oil in the pan on med-high heat to form a nice crust on the meat. Pop it into a slow cooker on low for 10 to 12 hours. Use the tomato paste to deglaze the pan after removing the meat. Reduce pan heat to medium and scoop the paste into the pan. Stir the paste around to pick up the meat bits and in a few minutes it turns a darker reddish brown. Add a can and a half of water to thin the paste into a sauce. Pour it over the meat in the slow cooker, and swirl the sauce into the other liquids. Amazingly good and the whole meal for 6 people ends up costing around $20 if you buy the meat on sale. Serve with mashed potatoes and a side vegetable.
