I've used a number of mixes and this one has to be the worst. They come out with a strange greasy coating and a bland taste. Add to that all the trans fat and I can't see using this mix again. I also find the name to be ironic since this isn't the true "Original Fair Scone" recipe which used eggs and butter rather than sodium bicarbonate and hydrogenated oil.

Growing up just blocks from the Fair where these were conceived, they were a fall staple for me and my family. After leaving Washington State for a career in the Air Force, I have made sure that I have always had a box in my pantry and in my freezer. Previously, friends and family have flown them to me in their suitcases, but getting them from Amazon is so much easier!! Take them out of the oven, slice them part-way open, slide in a pat of butter, and a spoonful of raspberry jam (I use Mediterranean Organic) and you'll taste heaven on earth. For another yummy treat, follow the instructions on the box for waffles. They'll be the best you've ever tasted. I have baked numerous homemade scone recipes, and truthfully, none of them compare. These are light, sweet, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious.
