I make a mean carmel corn using corn syrup. I already use agave sweeteners in my tea, can I substitute it for corn syrup in my carmel corn recipe?

The taste is wonderfully sweet and it doesn't cause a raise in sugar. Being newly diagnosed with diabetes this is great news for those times when I crave something sweet. I can't use most sweeteners so I really appreciate this. And my husband can't tell that I've replaced the sugar with this in recipes. I highly recommend it.
